After a six-year hiatus in its motorcycle lineup, Atlas Honda has unveiled an all-new model, the Atlas Honda CG150. Unlike previous years, where the company only introduced new graphics, this release is a completely new motorcycle. The CG150 aims to bring a fresh perspective to the market with updated features and design.
Pricing of the Atlas Honda CG150
The Atlas Honda CG150 is priced at Rs. 459,900, positioning it against popular competitors like the Suzuki GS150 and Yamaha YBR 125.
The Suzuki GS150 is priced lower, while the Yamaha YBR 125, with a smaller 125cc engine, comes close in price but is slightly more affordable by Rs. 400 for the entry-level YBR DX variant.
Key Features of the Atlas Honda CG150
While Atlas Honda has not officially confirmed the engine specifications, the CG150 is believed to feature a 150cc OHC engine, similar to the one used in the Honda CB150F. The engine also includes a balancer shaft, which helps reduce vibrations, ensuring a smoother ride.
Some of the highlighted features of the CG150 include LED headlights, all-forward gear shifting, and CBS (Combined Braking System). CBS means that when you apply the rear brake, it also partially activates the front brake, offering enhanced braking performance.
The motorcycle also includes black alloy rims, front disc brakes, and telescopic shocks, which have more travel compared to the standard shocks on Honda’s CG125 and CD70.
One noticeable addition is the self-start system, which is easily identified by a bulge on the right side of the engine casing, housing the self-start motor.
The CG150 also features significant chrome detailing, including on the silencer, rear and front shocks, mudguards, tail-light garnishes, and indicators.
Conclusion
The Atlas Honda CG150 marks a significant shift in the company’s offerings after six years. This new model brings more than just updated graphics, offering improved features and performance.
The CG150 is set to compete with other popular models in the 150cc category, making it an exciting new option for motorcycle enthusiasts.
