Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Pakistan on a two-day official visit from July 11-12 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received President Aliyev upon arrival. A 21-gun salute was given in his honor, and two children in traditional attire presented bouquets.

During the visit, President Aliyev will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Asif Ali Zardari. The discussions will cover areas of mutual interest to strengthen bilateral cooperation, with several agreements and MoUs expected to be signed.

Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the inaugural session of the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The session was also attended by President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and President Ilham Aliyev. PM Shehbaz Sharif proposed establishing tripartite mechanisms, particularly in economic and investment areas, to enhance trilateral cooperation.
