Electricity Restored in Majority of Flood-Hit Areas, Power Division Confirms

The Power Division has reported significant progress in restoring electricity in flood-affected regions, with most grids and feeders now back online. Teams continue working around the clock to reconnect remaining areas.

According to the latest update, electricity has been restored to 39 grids and 356 feeders in flood-hit zones. Of these, 152 feeders have been fully restored, while 202 feeders have been temporarily reconnected to ensure continuous supply until conditions improve.

Focus on Punjab Regions

In Punjab, 17 grids and 53 feeders under Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) have been restored temporarily. Meanwhile, in areas served by Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), 67 feeders remain affected. Officials confirmed that restoration work in these zones will begin immediately after floodwaters recede.

Update on Tribal Districts

In North Waziristan, two feeders have been temporarily restored, with full recovery expected by September 5. The Power Division emphasized that field teams are working day and night to reconnect affected households and ensure a steady electricity supply.

DISCO teams have been deployed continuously across all affected regions, prioritizing rapid restoration. Authorities assured citizens that restoring full electricity supply in all flood-hit areas remains a top priority.

Officials also highlighted the importance of coordination between provincial electricity departments and the federal Power Division. They said the combined efforts are crucial to mitigating the impact of flooding and ensuring safety and accessibility for residents.

With most grids operational and restoration work ongoing, residents in flood-affected areas are expected to see significant improvements in electricity availability in the coming days.
