Fawad evades capture by seeking sanctuary at the IHC in yet another attempt to kidnap.

Fawad Chaudhry, a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has returned to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in need of protection, not long after the court ordered him parole.

After the PTI leader was taken into jail on May 10, the IHC ruled that his arrest was “illegal” on Tuesday and ordered the authorities to release him.

However, after being freed, the Islamabad police made an effort to re-arrest Fawad while he was walking to his car. According to reports, the police have locked all doors to the courthouse.

Last week, Fawad was caught by the police as he left the Supreme Court (SC) building, where he had taken sanctuary for more than 12 hours in an effort to avoid being arrested.

He had been to the court earlier in the day to submit a petition against the IHC’s ruling that gave party head Imran Khan’s arrest legal justification. Soon later, law enforcement officials arrived at the court and waited to take him into custody. He spent the entire day inside the apex court, but it wasn’t until late in the day that he was hauled into jail.

An appeal of the arrest was being heard by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb of the IHC. He was to appear before the court today, according to a court order from yesterday.
