Five Killed, Three Injured in Deadly Chaman Blast Near Pak-Afghan Border

CHAMAN – At least five people lost their lives in a tragic Chaman blast near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The incident occurred in a car parking area of the city, causing panic among locals.

Deputy Commissioner Habib Bangulzai said initial findings suggest the explosives were placed inside passengers’ luggage. However, the exact nature of the blast is still being investigated. He confirmed that three others were injured and later taken to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were also shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Following the Chaman blast, Levies forces and other law enforcement agencies quickly arrived at the scene. They cordoned off the area and began gathering evidence. Security officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the motive and those responsible.

The Balochistan government strongly condemned the attack at the taxi stand and directed authorities to launch a swift inquiry. Officials from the Home Department urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading misinformation, and cooperate with investigators.

Medical staff at the Civil Hospital are providing emergency care to the injured. Authorities have also increased security in and around the area to prevent further incidents.

The government emphasized that peace in the region depends on community cooperation and urged people to support law enforcement agencies. Early reports indicate that investigators are analyzing the method used in the attack to trace its origin.

The Chaman blast highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, a region that has seen repeated attacks targeting civilians and public spaces. Officials assured that every effort is being made to identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
