Ministry of Religious Affairs has revised the application schedule for Hajj 2027 in Pakistan. Applications and payments will now begin on August 18 instead of August 17.
Under the revised schedule, designated Habib Bank branches across Pakistan will receive applications. The process will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications will continue until the allocated quota of 179,210 pilgrims is filled. Applicants are therefore expected to submit their documents and payments according to the new schedule.
Hajj 2027 Applications on First-Come Basis
According to ministry sources, the government has adopted a first-come, first-served system. The move aims to improve transparency and speed up the application process.
Applicants will also pay their total Hajj expenses in two equal instalments. The first 50% payment will be required when submitting the application.
The remaining payment will be collected according to the schedule and procedures announced by the authorities.
Pakistan has received a total quota of 179,210 pilgrims for Hajj 2027. The government has divided these seats between government and private schemes.
The Government Hajj Scheme will receive 60% of the total quota. This represents 107,526 seats for intending pilgrims.
The remaining 40% will be allocated to the Private Hajj Scheme. This portion includes 71,684 seats.
New Quota Introduced for POC Holders
The government has also introduced a significant change for Pakistan Origin Card holders. Authorities have reserved 1% of the total quota for POC holders.
This allocation represents 1,792 seats. It is the first time a separate quota has been reserved for this category.
Eligible POC holders can apply through both government and private schemes. However, their applications will remain subject to Saudi visa requirements.
Other applicable legal and administrative conditions will also apply to these applicants.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs expects the revised arrangements to make the process more accessible. The two-instalment payment system could also help applicants manage their expenses.
The inclusion of POC holders also expands access to Pakistan’s Hajj arrangements for eligible overseas Pakistanis.
Authorities will need to closely monitor the application process as submissions begin. This will be important if the available quota fills quickly.
