Humaira Asghar’s parents have broken their silence following her tragic death. They have dismissed rumors of a family rift and raised concerns about the cause of her passing.
Humaira’s body was found on July 8, 2025, inside a storeroom of her apartment in DHA Phase IV, Karachi. According to postmortem findings, she likely died in early October 2024. Her remains were discovered nearly 10 months later.
In interviews with local TV channels, Humaira’s father, Dr. Asghar, and her mother strongly denied claims that they had abandoned their daughter or refused to accept her body.
“It’s false that we didn’t take her body,” Dr. Asghar clarified. “I sent my son to Karachi to receive it after legal work was done.”
He also rejected speculation that Humaira was facing financial problems. “She earned well and had expensive clothes in her room. Any missed payments were likely after her death,” he said.
The family suspects that something suspicious may have occurred. “Her body was found face down, and the door locks looked strange,” Dr. Asghar stated. “I suspect foul play.”
Despite the pain, the family praised Sindh Police for handling the case with professionalism. They acknowledged the officers’ support and cooperation during the investigation.
Humaira’s mother recalled her last contact with her daughter in August 2024. “She said her phone SIMs were getting blocked and mentioned harassment,” her mother said. “Then her phone switched off. I kept calling but had no one to ask in Karachi.”
At the time, she thought Humaira might have traveled abroad. “I had a strange feeling in my heart before I saw the news on TV,” she added.
The parents also addressed reports that they disapproved of Humaira’s showbiz career. Dr Asghar clarified that they supported her artistic dreams. “She studied at NCA and joined the industry with our full consent,” he said.
They also said Humaira remained in contact and visited them every few months. The family described her as generous, career-driven, and emotionally invested in social causes.
