Imran Khan, ousted by a no-confidence motion in April 2022, faces multiple charges, including corruption and terrorism. He has been jailed since August of last year following his conviction in the Toshakhana case and other charges leading up to the February 8 elections.
Despite some relief in other cases, Khan remains imprisoned due to the Iddat case, where he and Bushra were sentenced to seven years in February for a fraudulent marriage. Bushra’s ex-husband claimed the marriage occurred during her Iddat period.
The couple’s appeals against their conviction and for sentence suspension were also filed. The court’s decision on these appeals is expected today at 3 pm, with the hearing on their conviction annulment resuming on July 2.
