Islamabad’s Red Zone on Lockdown as TLP Marches for Al-Aqsa

Protests in Solidarity with Palestinians Persist Worldwide as TLP Gathers in Islamabad Amid Gaza Bombardment

As the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip continues, global demonstrations in support of Palestinians remain ongoing. In Pakistan, the right-wing party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has begun its journey towards the capital.

TLP, a party that has encountered numerous legal challenges due to its involvement in violent protests, has mobilized hundreds of thousands of participants for a march from Faizabad to Constitution Avenue.

The party’s leader had previously announced the rally, scheduled for November 5, as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Today, party members assembled at Faizabad bridge on Express Highway, embarking on a ‘million march’ in caravans towards the capital.

In a bid to maintain top-level security and prevent any outbreaks of violence, the administration in the capital has implemented a complete lockdown of the Red Zone in Islamabad, and access routes leading to the Red Zone have been blocked using shipping containers.

A substantial number of security personnel have been deployed throughout the capital, including anti-riot forces and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel stationed on the routes leading to this high-security zone
