Karachi Students Hack School Website, Defame Teachers

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing has raised alarm over the increasing involvement of school students in cybercriminal activities, particularly hacking and defamation. Muhammad Amir Nawaz, Additional Director of FIA Cybercrime Karachi, noted that students are engaging in unlawful behavior such as hacking school websites to target and defame teachers. He attributed this to a lack of awareness about the consequences of such actions.

Nawaz emphasized the importance of parental guidance, urging parents to actively teach their children about the ethical use of technology. He also highlighted that over the past ten months, the Karachi Cybercrime Wing has addressed more than 700 inquiries, with eight individuals facing charges. Despite a shortage of resources, the department is working hard to resolve cases efficiently.

The FIA has called on both parents and educators to stay alert and educate students on responsible online behavior, as the surge in cybercrimes is becoming a serious concern for schools and the broader community.
