A terrorist attack on a police checkpost in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led to the martyrdom of a policeman and a Frontier Constabulary (FC) official, local authorities confirmed.
The district police officer (DPO) reported that the incident occurred when terrorists attacked the Takhta Beg check post with two rocket launchers, sparking a fierce gun battle between the attackers and the security forces at the post.

Despite the police and FC personnel’s efforts, the terrorists managed to escape amid the chaos of the retaliatory action.
In response, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to capture the fleeing terrorists.
The deaths of the two security officials have been met with grief and anger from the local community and law enforcement agencies. Both the policeman and the FC official are being honored as heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of martyred FC soldier Shahzad and policeman Ijaz for thwarting the terrorist attack and crushing their evil intentions.
“Shahzad and Ijaz sacrificed their lives in foiling the terrorist attack. We are proud of the bravery of the two martyred youths. The nation salutes the two martyrs who fought bravely,” Naqvi stated.
He added that Pakistan is determined to eliminate terrorism through unity and consensus. He emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and FC personnel have been pivotal in the war against terrorism.
