WAPDA Staff Accused of Fatally Assaulting Woman in Okara Over Electricity Meter

OKARA – A tragic incident has been reported in Okara, where a woman died after allegedly being abused by WAPDA officials.

The incident took place in the Somiyan Bhulo area when WAPDA staff visited the home of Zafar Iqbal to collect an electricity bill. They reportedly attempted to remove the electricity meter from his property.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Anwar Bibi, intervened to stop the officials from taking the meter. During the confrontation, the WAPDA employees allegedly assaulted her, resulting in her death.

Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered against five WAPDA officials following a complaint by Anwar Bibi’s husband. The FIR states that the accused employees were directly involved in the incident.
