Pakistan Coast Guards Arrest 123 Illegal Immigrants In Jiwani

The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have arrested 123 illegal immigrants in Jiwani, Balochistan, over the past two months.

According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards, the detainees were attempting to travel illegally between Pakistan and Iran without valid travel documents or permits. The arrests were part of ongoing PCG operations to curb human smuggling along the coastline.

โ€œAll detainees were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after initial interrogations for further investigation and legal proceedings,โ€ the spokesperson said. He emphasized that the Pakistan Coast Guards will continue such operations regularly and use all available resources to eliminate illegal migration and human trafficking.

The recent crackdown follows a series of coordinated efforts by the PCG to strengthen border security and monitor vulnerable coastal areas. Authorities noted that such measures are critical to safeguarding national security and controlling cross-border crime.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, met with Iraqi Interior Minister General Abdul Ameer Al-Shammari to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Iraq.

The ministers exchanged views on improving coordination and establishing long-term collaboration between their interior ministries. Both agreed to ensure smooth arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims, as well as broader security cooperation.

The Iraqi minister praised Pakistanโ€™s recent efforts to regulate pilgrim groups and confirmed that all pilgrims listed by Pakistanโ€™s Ministry of Interior would be allowed entry into Iraq. Minister Naqvi added that Pakistani pilgrims must comply with approved travel periods, and both countries will maintain close contact to ensure compliance and safety.

The Pakistan Coast Guardsโ€™ recent operations highlight their continued role in protecting borders and enforcing the law against human smuggling and illegal migration.
