The application process for Hajj 2026 under the government scheme has officially ended, with 118,060 pilgrims applying from across Pakistan.
Authorities closed the applications after just 17 days due to an overwhelming response. This year, the government opened the quota on a first-come, first-served basis, both online and at designated banks. Sources from the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the rapid completion of the process.
Applicants submitted forms for both short and long-duration Hajj packages. The ministry stated that half of the total Hajj expenses have already been received as the first installment. The remaining amount will be collected in the second installment before departure.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs will now review and process all applications. Selected pilgrims will receive further instructions regarding documentation, travel arrangements, and other preparations.
With the process ending sooner than anticipated, Hajj 2026 preparations are expected to move forward on an accelerated timeline.
This year, the government has increased the Hajj quota, giving more pilgrims the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage. The Cabinet recently approved the Hajj 2026 policy, raising the government share to 70 percent, allowing a larger number of applicants to secure their spot.
Officials urge pilgrims to complete all formalities on time once selected. They also emphasized the importance of following official instructions to ensure smooth travel and accommodation arrangements in Saudi Arabia.
The early closure of applications highlights the growing demand for Hajj among Pakistani citizens. Pilgrims are now preparing for what promises to be a well-organized and spiritually fulfilling Hajj 2026 experience.
