Pakistani Beggars Going Abroad, Facing Arrests

During a recent meeting of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis, concerns were raised regarding the migration of both skilled and unskilled labor from Pakistan.

It was revealed that a significant portion of those leaving the country were actually individuals engaged in begging.

Under the leadership of Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan Kakar, it was further disclosed that a substantial majority of beggars detained in foreign countries were of Pakistani origin. Zeeshan Khanzada, Secretary for Overseas Pakistanis, shed light on the troubling trend of beggars traveling to countries like Iraq and Saudi Arabia by posing as pilgrims and subsequently misusing their Umrah visas to engage in begging.

Additionally, it was noted that a significant number of pickpockets apprehended at Makkah’s Grand Mosque were also Pakistani nationals
