Pakistani Horse Rider Usman Khan Qualifies for Asian Games in France

PARIS – Pakistan’s top horse rider, Usman Khan, has officially qualified for the 2026 Asian Games after an outstanding performance in France.

Competing at the International Three-Star Eventing competition, Khan and his horse, Eden of the World, secured 6th position out of 59 riders in the CCI Three-Star Long Format event. His result made him the highest-ranked Asian horse rider in the tournament.

The strong finish also allowed Khan to achieve the qualification standard set by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) for the Asian Games. The three-day competition concluded with Pakistan placing second overall, just behind host nation France. India’s top horse rider, Ashish Lame, secured the 9th spot.

The event provided thrilling moments of rivalry between Pakistan and India. On the opening day, India edged ahead in dressage, but Pakistan bounced back on the second day with a powerful display in cross-country. On the final day, Khan delivered a flawless double-clear round in show jumping, sealing his qualification and beating his regional rival.

Following the event, Usman Khan expressed his gratitude and pride. β€œIt was an honor to compete against some of the best riders in the world. Securing 6th place and qualifying for the Asian Games is a great moment for me and Pakistan,” he said.

With this achievement, Khan continues to raise Pakistan’s profile in international equestrian sports. His qualification not only highlights his personal dedication but also inspires young athletes who dream of becoming a professional horse rider.

The 2026 Asian Games will now provide Khan with another stage to represent Pakistan and compete among the continent’s best.
