Pakistani pilots have garnered widespread admiration for their heroic actions in bringing down Indian fighter jets during a significant escalation. In response to their bravery, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, announced a cash reward of Rs50 million for the courageous Pakistan Air Force pilots who successfully countered India’s aerial aggression, shooting down multiple Indian jets in a daring operation.
This announcement was made on Pakistan’s “Youm-e-Tashakkur,” a day commemorating the nation’s effective defense and strategic response amidst rising border tensions earlier this month.

Peshawar Zalmi Chairman, Javed Afridi, praised the Air Force’s swift and accurate response, saying, “The bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of our pilots prevented widespread destruction and safeguarded millions of lives. Their courage in the face of direct threats to national security was exceptional.”
He further stated, “Their actions are a source of national pride and symbolize Pakistan’s unwavering resolve. Today, we honor them not just with words, but through tangible recognition.”
Afridi stressed that such unwavering commitment deserves more than just praise, highlighting the need for profound respect and support.
On May 10, Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyān Marsūs,” a retaliatory strike that downed five Indian warplanes, forcing India to accept a ceasefire. Indian sources later confirmed the loss of at least three aircraft.
The escalating military tensions have also affected cricket in both nations, with both the PSL and IPL temporarily suspended due to fears of further conflict. However, following the ceasefire, cricket officials are reportedly working to finalize new schedules and venues for the remaining matches in both leagues.
