Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and MNA Junaid Akbar has officially resigned from his role as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Sources within PTI confirm that Akbar submitted his resignation to party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. In a brief statement, Akbar noted that he stepped down following directives from the party leadership, adding that the PAC role was a responsibility entrusted to him by the party.

He also met with National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to discuss the resignation and the handover process.
Although the resignation letter did not specify a reason, it comes amidst legal issues, including several cases filed against Akbar in Attock and Islamabad.
PTI is now expected to announce a new nominee for the PAC chairmanship soon.
