In a bid to tackle the worsening smog crisis, the Punjab government has announced plans to initiate an artificial rain project in Rawalpindi. This trial project, aimed at reducing airborne pollutants, will proceed if cloud conditions prove suitable.

Provincial officials confirmed that specialized teams from environmental and government agencies have been stationed in Rawalpindi to oversee the projectβs execution. The artificial rain is expected to help clear the dense smog, which has severely impacted air quality and public health across Punjab.
The initiative reflects the governmentβs growing efforts to implement innovative solutions for the regionβs persistent pollution problems.
