Sindh recently held its inaugural auction for premium number plates, where the highest bid reached a record Rs100 million. The event, organized by the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh province, drew significant interest with many participants seeking unique registration numbers.
Among the numbers auctioned, the ‘A1’ plate garnered considerable attention and was sold for Rs100 million, with businessman Muzamal Kareem placing the winning bid. During the auction, another premium plate, ‘7’, fetched Rs45 million, also purchased by Muzamal Kareem.

Businessman Sorosh acquired the plate ‘786’ for Rs26 million, and Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah presented the ownership certificate.
Provincial ministers highlighted that these premium number plates are viewed as investments akin to assets, suggesting that auction winners may later resell the plates.
