Sindh Will Begin Accepting Applications For Arms Licenses From August 1

Sindh will resume issuing Arms Licenses starting August 1, following a recent notification from provincial authorities. The ban that had previously restricted the issuance of firearm licenses through deputy commissioners has been lifted.

This change, authorized by the Minister for Home, Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Criminal Prosecution, reflects the government’s response to public demand and security concerns. Previously, the authority to issue these licenses had been removed from deputy commissioners by the caretaker government.

The reinstatement of this power aims to streamline the process and address local needs. Eligible individuals and firms can now apply for Arms Licenses with the updated regulations, which come into effect next month. This move is intended to facilitate the acquisition of firearms while ensuring adherence to new procedural requirements.

The Sindh government plans to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of obtaining firearm licenses by shifting the responsibility for issuing them back to the deputy commissioners.
