Two Accused in Raiwind Brothers’ Murder Killed in Police Encounter

Two Accused in Raiwind Brothers’ Murder Killed in Police Encounter

Raiwind witnessed a violent turn of events on Thursday when two suspects accused of killing two brothers were killed in an alleged police encounter. The case had already sparked outrage after a disturbing video of the attack went viral on social media.

According to Lahore police and Crime Control Department (CCD) sources, a Chohang team had taken the suspects, Owais and Shahzad, to Raiwind for identification purposes. During the operation, their associates, led by a man named Tauqir, attacked the police in an effort to free the suspects.

Amid the crossfire, both Owais and Shahzad were killed. Tauqir and his accomplices managed to escape. Authorities have launched a search operation to track down the fleeing suspects.

The tragic incident in Raiwind began over a minor financial dispute of just Rs30. The suspects had previously attacked two brothers, Wajid and Rashid, following a quarrel with local fruit vendors.

One brother died on the spot, while the other was hospitalized in critical condition and later passed away after slipping into a coma.

The attack drew nationwide condemnation, particularly after a video showed the brothers lying in blood while vendors beat them with sticks. Bystanders reportedly did not intervene during the assault.

Police later arrested Shahzad using technological assistance, and Owais was also taken into custody in connection with the brutal killings. The authorities are determined to bring Tauqir and his accomplices to justice.

This incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over street violence and public safety in Raiwind. Law enforcement agencies have vowed to strengthen security measures and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
