Why Bilawal Called Zardari Moments After On-Air Interview

In the aftermath of an interview where former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari expressed views about his son Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s political readiness, speculation arose regarding a potential rift between the two. Reports indicated that Bilawal promptly left for Dubai following the interview, further fueling the conjecture about their relationship.

However, journalist Hamid Mir shed light on the situation, revealing that Bilawal initiated a call to Zardari after the interview aired. During this conversation, Bilawal aimed to explain his perspective on the tough questions posed during the interview. Zardari, in response, reassured Bilawal that he didn’t need to clarify his stance.

According to Mir, Zardari acknowledged the challenging nature of the questions and advised Bilawal to address them. Bilawal clarified that his narrative wasn’t directed at Zardari personally, and Zardari affirmed that no clarification was necessary. The conversation took place before Bilawal left for Dubai, with Zardari attributing the trip to a pre-planned family gathering.

While questions may linger about the dynamics between the two, Mir emphasized that Zardari’s primary message in the interview was not focused on Bilawal. Instead, Zardari hinted at the potential for a national unity government and suggested that claims of a simple majority by other parties might not materialize without PPP’s support.
