Pakistan's Must-Win Match: New Playing 11 for Asia Cup 2023

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced changes to the playing XI for the upcoming knockout match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023. These changes are primarily due to injuries to key players. Some notable alterations include:

  1. Fakhar Zaman’s omission: Fakhar Zaman, a seasoned opener, has been left out of the lineup. His place at the top of the order will be taken by the young and promising Mohammad Haris.
  2. Bowling changes: Pakistan’s bowling attack has been revamped due to injuries to key bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Mohammad Wasim and Zaman Khan have been called upon to fill their roles.
  3. Return of Mohammad Nawaz: Mohammad Nawaz makes a comeback into the squad, replacing Faheem Ashraf.
  4. Saud Shakeel’s inclusion: An injury to Salman Ali Agha has provided an opportunity for Saud Shakeel to be part of the playing XI.

These changes represent a significant transformation in Pakistan’s ODI lineup right before a crucial match against Sri Lanka, as they need a victory to qualify for the finals of the Asia Cup 2023.
