Policeman Arrested for Allegedly Taking Bribes from Kite String Manufacturers

The investigation in charge of the Ghulam Mohammadabad police station in Punjab, identified as Ibrahim, was reportedly arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from manufacturers of chemical kite strings. A special police team conducted the operation, catching Ibrahim red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe from chemical kite string manufacturers in Faisalabad.

In response to the incident, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) suspended all staff members, including Station House Officer (SHO) Ali Imran, from the Ghulam Mohammadabad police station. Furthermore, the RPO instructed SSP Operations Hasan Javed to initiate an inquiry into the matter to ensure accountability.

Despite efforts to curb the use of metallic kite strings, authorities have struggled to prevent incidents that endanger human lives. In one such incident in Karachi’s Nazimabad area, a minor boy sustained injuries from a loose kite string while traveling with his father on a motorcycle toward the Site area. Thankfully, the child’s condition is reported to be stable following medical treatment.
