Saudi Arabia has begun a new Umrah season for citizens and residents of the GCC.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially begun the new Umrah season for nationals and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia.

Following the successful completion of this year’s Hajj season, GCC nationals and residents can register for an Umrah permit using the ‘Nusuk’ or ‘Tawakkalna’ apps.

The Nusuk app is intended to make obtaining permissions for Umrah and seeing the Holy Rawdah in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah easier. Simultaneously, the Tawakkalna app analyses the applicants’ health eligibility.

Saudi Arabia has introduced electronic visas to make the process easier for Muslims all around the world who want to do Umrah. The e-visas are available through the Nusuk portal, which also provides accommodation, transportation, and information services in many languages and functions as a one-stop shop for services relevant to visiting Makkah and Madinah.

According to the SPA, the first arrivals using these e-visas are expected on July 19.
