Selena Gomez has announced a hiatus from social media following recent headlines about her interaction with bestie Taylor Swift and Teller’s wife, Keleigh Sperry.

The Only Murders in the Building star attracted attention over what appeared to be gossip regarding Kylie Jenner preventing her partner, Timothee Chalamet, from taking a picture with Gomez.

Addressing the speculation, Gomez commented on an E! News report of the incident, clarifying, “I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone’s business.”

She later shared a playful moment of her boyfriend Benny Blanco with two young children on her Instagram account, but then revealed her decision to take a break from social media, stating, “I’m off social media for a while. I’m focusing on what really matters.”

This is not the first time Gomez has stepped away from social media; she took a break in the last months of 2023, expressing concern about the world’s issues. At that time, she emphasized the need to end violence and hate, stating that such acts are horrific and must be stopped for good.
