Shaheen Afridi has reached a significant milestone in his Test return

Shaheen Shah Afridi has become Pakistan’s 19th bowler and 11th pacer to record 100 Test wickets.

In his second over in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, he dismissed opener Nishan Madushka.

At the age of 23, he has 100 wickets in 26 matches at an average of less than 25. In Test cricket, he also has four five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul.

Legendary bowlers like Imran Khan and Wasim Akram took 26 and 30 Test matches, respectively, to achieve the same feat. This demonstrates Afridi’s extraordinary talent and promise.

Meanwhile, Yasir Shah is the fastest Pakistani to 100 Test wickets, having done so in just 17 matches

Shaheen expressed his enthusiasm at reaching a milestone ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka.

“There is a lot of excitement [for that 100th wicket],” Shaheen added.

Afridi expressed his plan to use a new ball to accomplish this milestone in the first Test a year ago in Galle.

“I was only one wicket away, and the new ball was on its way.” I had intended to use the new ball to reach that goal, but I was injured before we received it. As a result, I’ve had to wait a long time. It’s difficult to be away from cricket, but time has taught me a lot that will help me perform well for Pakistan across all formats.”

Shaheen is one of the most exciting young bowlers in the world, and he will undoubtedly add many more wickets to his record in the coming years.
