Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has disclosed a frightening incident that occurred during Pakistan’s 2005 Test series tour to India.

Shahid Afridi revealed that the Pakistan cricket team van was stoned after the squad defeated India in a Test match in Bangalore in 2005.

This incident provides as a sharp reminder of the difficulties that players confront during India-Pakistan matches, particularly in light of the World Cup in 2023.

Despite these instances, Afridi is adamant that the Men in Green will compete in the upcoming World Cup in India in 2023.

Shahid Afridi emphasized the significance of embracing pressure and pushing for win, urged the team to keep competing in the face of adversity.

It is worth noting that Pakistan will meet the Men in Blue in the 50-over World Cup on October 15 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister, recently appointed a 14-member committee to decide Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup, which would be held in India.

This committee has the authority to properly analyze different aspects, including security situations, and to deliberate on the team’s World Cup participation.

According to sources, the committee will offer its recommendations to Prime Minister Shehbaz, who will make the final decision.
