Six Policemen Injured, One in Critical Condition in Terrorist Attack on Taunsa Checkpost

The introduction of ‘Pause Ads’ on YouTube marks a bold step towards redefining video advertising and On Wednesday morning, a terrorist attack targeted a checkpost in Taunsa Sharif, resulting in six security officials sustaining injuries, one of whom is reported to be critically wounded.

According to police sources, the assault occurred at the Hazrat Umar Farooq, also known as Jhangi checkpost, located in the Wahova area of Dera Ghazi Khan adjacent to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack inflicted injuries on six officers, with one in critical condition, as confirmed by officials.

In response to the attack, law enforcement agencies swiftly mobilized to the scene and cordoned off the area, launching a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. The injured officials were promptly transported to the Taunsa Sharif THQ Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Medical personnel attending to the wounded confirmed the critical condition of one official, underscoring the severity of the attack.

Condemning the heinous act, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz instructed authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical care to the injured officials. She commended the police for their resolute response to the terrorists, emphasizing the nation’s unwavering determination to eradicate terrorism.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, unidentified miscreants opened fire at the Machni Gate police station in Peshawar. Despite the police’s retaliatory measures, the assailants managed to evade capture and fled from the scene, as confirmed by Warsak SP Jawad Ishaq. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in this incident. A substantial police contingent promptly arrived at the scene and commenced a search operation to locate the perpetrators.
