The Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium in Karachi has been successfully renovated through a joint effort by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and the Pakistan Army. It marked its reopening by hosting the 68th DHA National Hockey Championship 2024.
The renovated stadium showcased its capabilities by accommodating fourteen teams, with Pakistan Customs claiming victory in a thrilling final against Mari Petroleum, winning 10-9.

Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, Corps Commander Karachi, was the chief guest at the final, presenting awards and underscoring the importance of hockey as Pakistan’s national sport, urging continued support for its growth.
The semi-finals were fiercely contested, with Pakistan Customs facing National Bank and Mari Petroleum competing against Air Force.
The final attracted large crowds, emphasizing hockey’s continued popularity in Karachi. The stadium’s renovation is a key milestone for Pakistan’s hockey infrastructure, now ready to host both national and international events.
