Competitions for Pakistan's Fastest Men and Women to Begin on October 8

The inaugural national competition to identify the fastest men and women across various categories will take place on October 8 at Punjab Stadium in Lahore. Brigadier (retired) Wajahat Hussain, President of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), made this announcement on Wednesday.

The event will feature male and female athletes from across the country, representing different departments, provinces, and regional associations.

Brigadier Wajahat emphasized the significance of this event, stating that its aim is to promote athletics and uncover Pakistan’s fastest individuals. All participants are required to arrive at Punjab Stadium by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the competition.

This event comes at an important time for Pakistan, as the nation continues to celebrate the achievements of Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem and Paralympic star Haider Ali.

Despite their successes, these athletes received minimal support and infrastructure, with many national athletes lacking proper training facilities.

It is hoped that promoting events like this will help discover more athletes who can represent Pakistan internationally and ensure they receive better support in the future.
