Mohamed Salah’s crucial penalty helped Liverpool edge past Wolves 2-1, taking them to the top of the Premier League table. Despite Wolves’ strong start at Molineux, Liverpool managed to secure their fifth win in six matches under new manager Arne Slot.

Ibrahima Konaté opened the scoring for the Reds in first-half stoppage time, heading in a cross from Diogo Jota. However, Wolves equalized early in the second half after a defensive mistake from Konaté allowed Rayan Aït-Nouri to score.

Liverpool regained their lead when Jota was brought down in the box, and Salah converted the penalty, marking his 231st direct goal involvement in the Premier League. With 159 goals and 72 assists, Salah continues to solidify his status as one of the league’s top players.

The win moved Liverpool above Manchester City and Arsenal, while Wolves remain at the bottom of the table. Next up, Liverpool face Crystal Palace as they aim to continue their title charge.
