The Punjab government has announced scholarships for U‑16 the young athletes who brought home gold at the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
Director General (DG) Sports Punjab, Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, made the announcement while meeting the victorious team. The players, who recently defeated Iran in the final, were praised for their dedication and discipline.
During the meeting, Chaudhry congratulated the team on their exceptional performance. He declared that each winning player will receive a one-year scholarship as recognition for their historic achievement. He also announced a monthly stipend of Rs70,000 for players listed in the Platinum category.
Chaudhry said the players had made the country proud through their hard work and team spirit. “These young athletes have written history,” he remarked. “Identifying and supporting such talent is our top priority. I am confident they will continue to shine on international platforms.”
