Wasim Akram, in an exclusive interview with ProPakistani, recently discussed his past rivalry with fellow pace bowler Waqar Younis.
Akram characterized their competition to outperform each other in terms of wicket-taking as a “healthy rivalry” that ultimately benefited both players and the Pakistani cricket team.
He stressed that despite their on-field rivalry, they maintained good sportsmanship and even helped each other with bowling strategies, contributing significantly to their shared success in international cricket.
Akram acknowledged that, as young players, they both had egos at the time, which led to some personal differences. However, he reassured that those issues have been resolved and put behind them.
Over the years, the two legendary cricketers have not only buried their differences but have also built a strong bond that extends beyond the cricket field.
