Israel and the US Prepare Military Response After Iranian Missile Attack

Israel

Following a missile strike from Iran, the Israeli army is reportedly coordinating with the United States for a potential military response. Israeli media reported that while Israel has decided on the type of response to Iran, the timing remains uncertain.

To enhance its defenses, Israel has deployed the US-made THAAD missile defense system, aimed at countering potential long-range ballistic missile threats. In support, the US will send an advanced anti-missile system and troops to operate it, according to President Joe Biden.

The THAAD system, designed to intercept ballistic missiles at high altitudes, will significantly bolster Israel’s air defense capabilities. This deployment is part of Israel’s preparations for a “major” strike against Iran, with close coordination between the Israeli army and US officials.

The escalation follows an attack by Iran involving approximately 180 missiles in response to the assassination of key figures linked to Hamas and Hezbollah. Iran has defended its missile strike by citing its right to self-defense under international law.
