In southern Lebanon, two explosions near a UNIFIL watchtower injured two peacekeepers, marking a significant escalation in the region as Israeli forces engage with Hezbollah. UNIFIL stated that the security of its personnel must be guaranteed amidst these developments.

The ongoing conflict, which intensified over the past year, has led to significant casualties on both sides. The Israeli military aims to secure northern Israel from threats posed by Hezbollah, which has retaliated with rocket fire. The humanitarian impact has been severe, with over 1.2 million people displaced in Lebanon and thousands reported dead or wounded.

The situation remains tense as both Israel and Hezbollah continue their military operations in the region.
