Xiaomi’s Debut in Electric Cars: Unveiling the SU7

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech powerhouse, has officially introduced its long-awaited electric vehicle, the SU7, during an event held on Thursday.

At the launch event in Beijing, China, the company’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, who had previously hinted at the vehicle’s arrival, unveiled it to the public. Lei Jun expressed Xiaomi’s ambitious goal to secure a position among the world’s top 5 automakers within the next 15 to 20 years.

He emphasized Xiaomi’s aspiration to craft a dream car that rivals the excellence of Porsche and Tesla. However, specific pricing details for the car were not disclosed during the event.

In a series of posts on X, Lei Jun revealed the three vibrant colors in which the car has been launched: Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green.

Additionally, Xiaomi declared that the SU7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a remarkable 2.78 seconds, officially entering the esteemed “2s Supercar Club” with this impressive feat. The car is anticipated to be available for purchase in the coming months.

Moreover, Lei Jun revealed that Christopher Edward Bangle, an American automobile designer, has joined Xiaomi as the design consultant. Lei Jun mentioned Bangle’s astonishment at the remarkable accomplishment of building such an impressive car in a relatively short period.
