In a shocking incident in Coimbatore, an Indian man allegedly murdered his wife over suspicions of an extramarital affair. The accused, Balamurugan, reportedly took a disturbing selfie with his wife’s body and shared it on social media.
According to police, Balamurugan had been married to Sri Priya, with whom he had three children. Sri Priya was living and working at a women’s hostel for personal reasons, away from her husband.
Police said the Indian man suspected his wife of being involved with another individual. On the day of the incident, he went to the hostel and asked her to come with him. When she refused, a heated argument escalated, and he allegedly attacked her with a concealed sickle, killing her instantly.
After the attack, the Indian man reportedly remained beside his wife’s body until authorities arrived. In a shocking act, he took a selfie with the corpse, which was lying in a pool of blood, and posted it as his WhatsApp status with the caption: “The payment for betrayal is death.”
Police swiftly took Balamurugan into custody. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the murder, including the social media post and the motive behind the attack. Authorities are also assessing the role of any possible witnesses or prior complaints related to domestic issues.
