The 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end is reportedly contemplating retirement. His brother, Jason Kelce, a former NFL player with the Philadelphia Eagles, encouraged him to take his time. Jason retired in 2024 and shared advice during Monday Night Football.
“In my opinion, to nail that decision, you’ve got to step away from the game for a little bit,” Jason said, emphasizing the importance of reflection. He suggested that Travis Kelce enjoy his remaining games of the season without pressure.
Jason also advised, “Play these last three games, enjoy them with your teammates and coaches. The team will change whether you return or not next year, so just enjoy these moments and let it sink in.”
Earlier in 2025, Travis Kelce stated he still has “a lot more to prove” in the NFL. Despite contemplating retirement after the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl, he remains motivated and ambitious.
He told reporters, “It wasn’t a very tough decision for me. I know I’m getting older, but I still feel I have a lot to prove in this league. I love football, and I love coming into work every day.”
