The Wales Family made a festive return to the Royal Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace after skipping last year.
On Tuesday, December 16, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the event with their three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. The family arrived at the palace in a car, with William driving and Kate in the passenger seat. The children sat in the back, accompanied by their longtime nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
For the occasion, Kate and Princess Charlotte coordinated with festive red outfits and matching hair bows. The family appeared cheerful and ready to enjoy the palace’s annual holiday celebration.
Although the Prince and Princess of Wales usually attend the Royal Christmas lunch, they were absent in 2024 while spending the holidays in Norfolk, England. This year, they rejoined the wider royal family, highlighting the event’s importance as a seasonal tradition.
After the lunch, the Wales Family also participated in the annual Christmas Day Walk to church alongside other members of the royal household. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were among the other royals in attendance.
Notably absent from the Royal Christmas lunch was former Prince Andrew. He was seen horseback riding in the rain around Windsor Park on the same day, continuing to keep a low profile following previous controversies.
The Royal Christmas lunch remains a highlight of the holiday season at Buckingham Palace, bringing together the royal family for festive celebrations, photographs, and shared traditions. The return of the Wales Family this year was warmly welcomed by royal observers and fans.
