LAHORE – Air travel between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is set to become more convenient as FitsAir announces new direct flights connecting Colombo and Lahore. The airline will operate two weekly Pakistan–Sri Lanka flights starting January 20, 2026.
The flights will depart every Tuesday and Saturday, offering passengers a smooth and direct travel option. FitsAir plans to use the Airbus A320, ensuring modern comfort and efficiency for travelers. Authorities say the route will strengthen connectivity and provide easier access for both business and leisure travelers.
Tourism officials highlighted that Pakistan–Sri Lanka flights will open doors for cultural exchange, trade, and tourism. Lahore, with its historic sites and vibrant culture, is expected to attract more Sri Lankan visitors. Similarly, Pakistanis will find Colombo’s beaches, wildlife, and heritage sites increasingly accessible.
Previously, travelers relied on stopovers in the Middle East, making journeys longer and less convenient. The launch of these direct Pakistan–Sri Lanka flights will significantly reduce travel time, providing a hassle-free option for international travelers.
Industry experts believe the new flights will positively impact tourism and business relations. “Direct flights between Lahore and Colombo are a game-changer for connectivity and regional cooperation,” said a spokesperson from the Civil Aviation Authority.
FitsAir’s move is part of a broader effort to expand air travel links across Asia. The airline expects high demand, particularly among tourists, business travelers, and students traveling between the two countries.
