Pakistanโs Foreign Office on Saturday issued a travel advisory urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to Iran due to growing unrest in the country.
โPakistani citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran for their safety until conditions improve,โ the FO said in a statement.
Pakistani nationals currently in Iran have been instructed to exercise caution, stay vigilant, limit non-essential travel, and maintain regular contact with Pakistani missions.
The Pakistan Embassy in Tehran has established a crisis management unit to assist citizens during this period. Ambassador Mudassir Tipu confirmed that nationals in Iran can contact the unit for guidance or emergencies.
The embassy has also provided five dedicated phone numbers available 24/7. Details of the crisis management unit have been shared on the embassyโs official social media pages.
Protests across Iran continue, driven by rising living costs and economic challenges. Authorities have responded by imposing internet restrictions to control the flow of information.
The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistani travelers should stay alert, follow local advisories, and avoid gatherings or protest areas. The advisory reflects Pakistanโs concern for the safety of its citizens abroad.
Pakistani nationals in Iran are urged to regularly check updates from the embassy and report any emergency situations immediately.
