KP CM Sohail Afridi’s Convoy Faces Night-Time Roadblocks After Sindh Tensions

KP CM Sohail Afridi and his convoy faced major difficulties late at night while returning from Hyderabad to Karachi. The incident occurred amid rising political tensions in Sindh.

According to party sources, the convoy departed Hyderabad at around 12:30am. Soon after leaving, it encountered multiple road closures. Barriers were placed on several routes that fell along the planned journey.

These obstructions caused repeated delays. What should have been a short drive stretched into hours. The convoy reportedly took almost three hours just to reach the motorway.

Party officials said the situation did not improve upon reaching the motorway. They claimed additional blockades were set up at different points. These obstacles further slowed the movement of the vehicles.

Sources alleged the blockades were intentional. They claimed the aim was to stop KP CM’s convoy from moving forward smoothly. No official explanation for the barriers was immediately provided.

The incident followed an already tense day in Sindh. Earlier, an operation was carried out at Jinnah Ground. PTI workers had gathered there to prepare for a planned jalsa on Sunday.

According to party statements, the operation was conducted by Sindh government officials. PTI workers present at the ground were allegedly assaulted. The party described the action as unjustified and excessive.

PTI leaders strongly criticized the Sindh government over the operation. They accused the Zardari-led administration of ignoring democratic values. They said such norms were historically promoted by earlier PPP leadership.

The party also linked the convoy incident to the broader political climate. Leaders claimed the hurdles faced by KP CM’s convoy reflected growing intolerance toward political activity.

According to PTI representatives, these actions show fear within the ruling circles. They believe it is linked to the increasing public support for Imran Khan and his party.

They further stated that restricting movement and gatherings could worsen political instability. They urged authorities to respect democratic rights and peaceful political engagement.

So far, no formal response has been issued by Sindh authorities regarding the road closures. The matter continues to draw attention from political observers.
