Pakistan and the United States have agreed to deepen cooperation in border management and security.
The announcement came during a high-level meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a US delegation led by Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker.
Both sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation to address evolving security challenges.
The agreement emphasizes stronger coordination between Pakistani institutions and US agencies to improve law enforcement effectiveness.
Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of modern technology in tracking criminals abroad.
He said advanced software will help identify individuals involved in crimes, financial fraud, and terrorism financing.
US support will provide Pakistani agencies with modern tools to enhance border security and operational capacity.
The Interior Minister announced that Pakistanโs Border Security and Coast Guard units will receive American equipment.
This will strengthen monitoring along borders and improve overall law enforcement efficiency.
In addition, Pakistan welcomed US assistance for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Naqvi said the FIAโs new anti-terrorism wing will coordinate with provinces to better tackle terrorism at the federal level.
The NCCIA is cracking down on illegal call centers and cybercrime nationwide, with US support helping to combat financial fraud and terror funding.
The US delegation praised Pakistanโs efforts to enhance security and bilateral ties.
Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker highlighted ongoing collaboration between Pakistanโs Ministry of Interior and US institutions.
She assured that the United States would continue supporting Pakistan in strengthening border security, law enforcement, and cybercrime initiatives.
Officials from both sides stressed that sustained cooperation between Pakistan, US agencies is crucial for regional stability and counterterrorism efforts.
