Lahore Lion Attack: Eight-Year-Old Boy Loses Arm at Private Breeding Farm

Another disturbing incident involving a wild animal has shocked Lahore. An eight-year-old boy, Wajid Ali, lost his arm after a Lahore lion attack at a private breeding farm in Sabzazar. Police have arrested the accused and launched legal action under multiple laws.

According to officials, the boy was playing near the lions when the attack happened. The lion bit off his arm due to poor enclosure arrangements and negligence by the farm owners.

Authorities said the owners initially tried to hide the incident. However, the DIG (Operations) took immediate notice and ordered strict legal action. Police acted swiftly, arrested the accused, and secured the farm.

The injured child was rushed to a hospital, where doctors initially thought his hand was stuck in a machine. Due to the severity of his injuries, surgeons amputated his arm to save his life. He was later moved to Ganga Ram Hospital for further treatment.

A five-member medical board has been formed to oversee the childโ€™s care. The board includes the head of surgery, two senior professors, the director of emergency, and the head nurse. Medical Superintendent Dr. Arif Iftikhar confirmed that the boyโ€™s condition is currently stable and assured that he will receive the best medical care.

Police confirmed that a case has been registered under the Wildlife Act and other relevant laws. As the victimโ€™s family initially avoided pursuing legal action, police have taken on the role of complainant.

Sources revealed that the accused attempted to settle the matter financially, but investigations are ongoing. Authorities emphasized that this Lahore lion attack occurred due to improper handling and clear negligence by the farm owners.

Officials warned that keeping dangerous wild animals without proper safety measures will not be tolerated. Legal proceedings are continuing, and police remain committed to ensuring accountability for the incident.
