A serious traffic accident in Khudadad Colony, Karachi, has been captured on CCTV, raising concerns about road safety in residential areas. The footage shows a speeding car losing control and crashing into a roadside halwa puri stall.
According to police, the car suddenly veered off the road and struck the food stall with force. As a result, hot cooking oil spilled across the area. Four workers at the stall suffered severe burn injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The CCTV footage clearly shows the moment of impact. Utensils and boiling oil were thrown into the air. Panic spread among people nearby as the scene turned chaotic within seconds.
Police confirmed that the driver, identified as Aurangzeb, was taken into custody. Another person traveling in the car was also detained. Both are being questioned about the cause of the accident.
Authorities said the CCTV recording will serve as key evidence in the investigation. Legal action will be taken once the inquiry is complete. Officials also warned that reckless driving remains a major risk in Karachi.
This incident has again highlighted the dangers faced by roadside workers. Many food stalls operate without safety barriers. A single mistake can result in serious injuries.
In a separate incident, another CCTV clip showed a dramatic robbery in Bahadurabad, Karachi. Two suspects stole around 200 tolas of gold and tried to escape on a motorcycle.
While fleeing, the robbers hit a speed breaker. The sudden impact caused the stolen gold to fall onto the road. The footage shows jewelry scattering across the street.
Security guards and local watchmen quickly arrived at the scene. They managed to force the suspects to leave behind part of the stolen items. Most of the scattered gold was later recovered by police.
However, officials said the robbers still escaped with valuables worth nearly $100,000. Police are now using CCTV footage to identify and track the suspects.
The CCTV recordings clearly show the faces of both individuals. One suspect is seen on foot. The other is riding the motorcycle. Investigators are preparing a geo-fencing plan to trace their escape route.
