The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a nationwide network of e-franchise centres to simplify CNIC renewal and replacement for citizens.
With the introduction of e-franchise centres, people no longer need to visit NADRAโs main offices. Services are now available at authorized local centres across Pakistan.
Speaking on ARY Newsโ program Bakhabar Savera, NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said the project started with 18 pilot e-franchise centres. Following successful results, the initiative has expanded to over 2,000 centres nationwide.
The service is designed to be simple and accessible. Citizens do not need a smartphone or internet connection to use an e-franchise centre. They can visit their local franchise, provide their CNIC number, and have their photograph and fingerprints verified from NADRAโs database to complete the process.
Currently, e-franchise centres offer services related only to CNIC renewal and reissuance of lost cards. No police report (FIR) is required for these services, making the process faster and more convenient.
Regarding data security, Syed Shabahat Ali said citizens can use NADRAโs Pak-Identity app to track when, how, and by whom their data, including CNIC number, fingerprints, or QR code, has been accessed.
He also clarified that women applying for a CNIC do not need to present their parentsโ identity cards. They can use information from their B-Form, along with their husbandโs registration details and marriage certificate, to obtain a CNIC.
The introduction of e-franchise centres marks a major step in modernizing NADRA services. Officials believe the expansion will improve access to CNIC facilities, reduce wait times, and make the process more convenient for citizens across Pakistan.
