Lahore Prepares For Landmark Art Event With Nav Haq Leading Biennale 04

The Lahore Biennale Foundation (LBF) has announced that renowned curator Nav Haq will lead the fourth edition of the Lahore Biennale (LB04), opening in Spring 2027. The announcement was made during a star-studded ceremony in Lahore attended by cultural, academic, and public sector leaders.

President & CEO of the Bank of Punjab, Zafar Masud, highlighted the bankโ€™s ongoing support for arts, culture, and public institutions. He welcomed Nav Haq, saying the Biennale shows how culture and civic engagement can create lasting impact.

LB04 promises to be a major cultural event, featuring newly commissioned works, monumental installations, and interactive public programs across Lahoreโ€™s historic and civic spaces. The Biennale aims to strengthen Lahoreโ€™s reputation as a hub for contemporary art and foster meaningful engagement with local communities.

Based in Antwerp, Belgium, Nav Haq brings extensive international expertise to the Biennale. He is Associate Director at M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, overseeing its artistic program, and serves as an editor at Afterall journal. His curatorial work spans institutions such as Arnolfini, Bristol, Gasworks, London, and major international exhibitions, including the Kyiv Biennial 2025 and shows at M HKA.

Speaking on his appointment, Nav Haq expressed honor and excitement. โ€œLahore is a city of immense cultural depth and a thriving contemporary art scene. I look forward to engaging deeply with the city and its audiences,โ€ he said.

Qudsia Rahim, Executive Director of LBF, praised Nav Haqโ€™s global vision and regional understanding, calling him the perfect curator for LB04. She added that his leadership will elevate the Biennale to new heights.

The Lahore Biennale Foundation, a non-profit promoting cultural exchange and public engagement through contemporary art, continues to activate Lahoreโ€™s heritage and civic spaces while positioning the city as a leading cultural center in South Asia.
