The court has bail extended for YouTuber Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak in a case involving the promotion of gambling applications. The hearing was held before Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi.
Both accused appeared in court and marked their attendance. After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge decided to bail extended the interim relief until 6 March.
The court also instructed the investigation officer of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to complete the ongoing investigation as soon as possible. The agency is probing the promotion of gambling apps on social media.
Last year, the NCCIA registered an FIR against Rajab Butt for allegedly promoting illegal gambling platforms. The FIR claims that applications like Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game defrauded users by taking money without paying out profits.
The case has attracted attention due to the involvement of social media influencers and the financial losses reported by users. Authorities emphasize that such applications target unsuspecting individuals and may violate national laws.
During the hearing, legal representatives for both accused presented their arguments, seeking protection while the investigation continues. The bail extended ensures that the accused remain out of custody during the probe.
The NCCIA continues to collect evidence and statements related to the gambling apps. Investigators aim to complete their inquiry before the next court date, providing a detailed report to support further proceedings.
This development highlights the ongoing scrutiny of online gambling promotions in Pakistan. Legal experts note that courts are carefully reviewing cases involving social media influencers to balance legal compliance with personal freedoms.
The next hearing is expected after 6 March, when the court will review the progress of the investigation and decide on further legal measures. Meanwhile, Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak remain free under the conditions of their bail extended.
